Brookvale Public School Preschool Open Day
Children starting school in 2027 and their parents are invited to attend on Friday 29 May 9:30am-10:30am. This popular and exciting event includes:
- Performances from our school band, choir and dance group
- Opportunities to meet our student leaders and staff
- Games and activities with our classroom teachers
School tours
Future Kindgarten students and their families are invited to attend a tour of the school led by our principal, Luke Richmond.
The school tours take place across multiple weeks. You only need to attend one school tour. The tours include classroom visits, learning about our school and exploring our facilities.

Transition to school program
The transition to school program consists of a series of events to help you and your child become familiar with our school environment and learning in the classrooms. See below for the events that are part of this program:
Coffee and Play - Friday 19 June - 9:30am-10:30am
Families and children starting Kindergarten in 2027 are invited to attend a relaxed coffee and play morning. Children will have time to play while parents and carers can enjoy a coffee and chat with other families. Staff will also be available to answer questions about starting school.
Teddy Bears' Picnic - Friday 7 August - 9:30am-10:30am
Kindergarten 2027 students join with our current Kindergarten students for a fun filled morning of treasure hunts and picnicking. Students are introduced to the school environment through play. Our Parents and Citizens Association will host a morning tea for parents as they wait for their child.
Transition Information Evening - Wednesday 12 August - 6:00pm-7:00pm
Executive staff and Kindergarten teachers will speak with parents of students attending Kindergarten in 2027 about school readiness and ways parents, carers and educators can support children in the lead up to starting school. This session will also provide an opportunity to ask questions and gain practical advice to support your child’s transition.
Transition Morning 1 - Friday 23 October - 9:15am-10:30am
Kindergarten students joining us in 2027 will spend the morning in the Kindergarten classrooms, participating in a range of fun activities. Parents will engage in a ‘Helping your child with reading at home workshop’ hosted by school staff.
Transition Morning 2 - Friday 30 October - 9:15am-10:30am
Kindergarten students joining us in 2027 will again spend the morning in the Kindergarten classes participating in a range of fun activities. Staff will provide information on the routines for the first few weeks of school.
