Welcome to Brookvale Public School
Brookvale Public School is a long established school of 314 students where staff design personalised learning to meet the needs of all students in a safe, happy and supportive environment. The school is situated in the heart of the Brookvale on Sydney's Northern Beaches, and is supported by a dedicated P&C. Brookvale Public School engages in strong partnerships with local primary schools, as an active member of the Northern Beaches Learning Alliance (NBLA).
The school is committed to collaborative relationships with Aboriginal peoples, the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group (AECG) and its strong and vibrant multi-cultural community. Embracing diversity, inclusivity and equity has supported a culture that allows students to connect, succeed, thrive and learn. Building relationships through inclusive practices ensures every student is known, valued and cared for.
Our learning environment includes state of the art flexible learning spaces for our senior students, a modern multi-purpose hall, modern play spaces and oval, as well as two student designed playgrounds. Student learning is further enhanced by a well-resourced library and strategic use of emerging technologies.
As a Positive Behaviour For Learning (PBL) school, the school values of respect, responsibility and personal best are embedded into every day learning. A variety of extension, enrichment and extra-curricular programs, including performing arts and sport, are tailored to the interests and abilities of our students, including our high performing and gifted students, promoting the holistic development of each child. Our learning support team successfully implements targeted early intervention programs in reading and numeracy which cater for the individual support needs of students.
The school is working to embed explicit, quality teaching practices in reading, writing and numeracy. A strong focus on ensuring students are engaged, assessment capable learners who are active participants in their learning underpins a culture that promotes student agency and voice. Highly effective, data informed and differentiated learning opportunities support students to achieve expected growth and attainment in their learning. High impact professional learning allows teachers to collaborate, reflect on and share best practice. Teacher collaborative inquiry enables teachers to cater for the diverse needs of students at Brookvale Public School.
Through the 2024-2027 Strategic Improvement Plan, Brookvale Public School will work towards student growth and attainment, high impact strategies to engage learners and building relationships through inclusive practices.
