Fundraising goal for 2025:

This year, our goal is to build a sheltered area in the car park, buy House flags for sports carnivals, and invest in a new sick bay bed.

The role of the Parents and Citizens  (P&C) Association

At Brookvale Public School, we rely strongly on the partnership between parents and the school to provide the optimum learning environment for children. Brookvale Public School is committed to encouraging the exchange of ideas, and developing mutual expectations between the school and the community.

Parents provide invaluable assistance throughout the school, whether it be reading in classrooms, covering books, canteen help, assistance on Sports Carnival Days, with other special events, or participating in the P&C and its fundraising.

Children love to see their parents involved in their school, and the school certainly needs the support of parents.

Many teachers, particularly in the younger years, create rosters for parents to help in the classroom.

The P&C has two main objectives:

  • To promote communication, understanding, and co-operation between the teachers and parents of the school.
  • The raising of funds, which are then donated to the school, for facilities that may not otherwise be provided.

Through the P&C Association parents may be involved in all aspects of the school, working in partnership with the teaching staff and the Principal to achieve the best possible learning environment for our children. Membership of the P&C Association is open to all parents.

Being a member entitles parents to vote on issues raised at P&C meetings, and to hold positions on P&C sub-committees. All P&C positions fall vacant at the AGM which is held at the beginning of each school year.

The effectiveness of the P&C in achieving its objectives is greatly increased by as many members as possible actively participating in the various meetings and functions of the P&C.

The P&C Association meets twice a term in week 3 and 8.  Please see the calendar for meeting dates.
