Your Local School

Your child and your family are the most important part of Brookvale Public School.

Our school is a true partnership between our parents, our teachers and our community members.

We actively encourage our parents to support our teaching and learning programs, to communicate openly with our teachers and to feel welcome in all classrooms. We are committed to them being valued participants in the education of their children.

We are a school that is built on a strong foundation of family and community values.

We support and guide all children in the developing of important values such as respect, understanding and responsibility through daily social interaction and specific learning experiences.

We are an active member of our community supporting local groups and organisations that provide services to the Brookvale area.   Our school is proud to continue to be an integral part of the Brookvale community, as it has been for over 80 years.

Become part of this vibrant family at Brookvale Public School and journey with us into learning.

Innovative Thinking

"Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." Albert Einstein

Teachers at Brookvale are highly skilled and passionate about teaching. Our strong Professional Development program means that we are at the forefront of innovations in education. The world is becoming more interconnected, and technology is continuously altering our relationship to globally available information. Learning in the 21st century has a focus on communication, creativity and collaboration. Our teachers regard themselves as learners as well as teachers, and an interest in learning is the key characteristic that our teachers share with their students.

Brookvale is an active member of the Northern Beaches Learning Alliance (NBLA). The eleven local schools in this group work closely together for the benefit of all our learners, sharing our expertise, facilities and resources. We participate in cross-campus projects such as Design, Make, Innovate (DMI) and Project Penguin, where our Stage 3 students work with student mentors from the high schools.

Technology in Learning

"Tell me and I forget, Teach me and I will remember, Involve me and I will learn." Benjamin Franklin

Students at Brookvale benefit from learning in an educational environment where innovation and the use of digital technology is integral to all curriculum areas. Students use technology to develop their learning and actively engage with their peers and teachers to broaden the boundaries of their education. We believe that the use of technology is paramount in providing our students with the skills to grow into being active and informed citizens.

Students' learning is enhanced by utilising the latest technologies. We continuously develop a range of innovative programs to enrich learning experiences. Students and staff make extensive use of interactive whiteboard technology, video-conferencing, computers, iPads and cameras to enhance learning outcomes.
